45deg 90deg 180deg butt weld elbows

Butt weld elbows are bent by steel pipes. The function of butt weld elbows in a piping system is to change the direction. There are different angles, such as 45deg elbows, 90deg elbows, 180deg elbows. Other degrees elbows can be machined from a standard elbow. 

According to different bend radius, elbows are divided into long radius elbows and short radius elbows. The center to face distance for a "long" radius elbow, abbreviated LR always is "1½ x Nominal Pipe Size (NPS) (1½D)", while the center to face distance for a "short" radius elbow, abbreviated SR even is to nominal pipe size.

Longer radius type, the center to face dimension e.g. is three times the nominal size (3D), even is available.

Dimensions, dimensional tolerances, markings etc. for long and short radius elbows are defined in standard ASME B16.9.
